Today internet has made the world a very small village, and facilitated communication between the people largely were not imagined before. The Internet essentials that you can not live without the world they are the center of economy, finance and communication etc. But you ever wondered how it was linked to all countries of the world to this network?


Countries are linked with each other to the Internet through a wide range of submarine cables linking the continents such as Asia and North America as well as between Aruba, Africa, and Australia. According to the Washington Post, the first communications cable that has crossed the sea in 1858 and linked between Ireland and the island of Newfoundland.

How many of these cables?
This map dating back to TeleGeography shows about 350 cable that crosses oceans and seas and pass in the Sahel in many countries. However, the entire length of the network is more than 885 000 kilometers, some cables buried after 8800 meters, almost any height of Mount Everest.


Also, the cables that pass in the shallow areas are thicker and additional layers are protected because they are vulnerable to attacks by marine animals.
